About Us:
As a volunteer-driven organization, visual communication is a critical tool for sharing our mission, celebrating history, and connecting with the community. The Denver Police Museum (DPM) is dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the Denver Police Department while fostering community engagement through educational programs, exhibits, and events.

Role Overview:
The DPM Graphic Designer role is to help maintain and create templates, flyers, or other collateral that follow DPM Branding Guidelines. Assist web specialists with web designs.

This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to preserving Denver’s rich law enforcement history while gaining hands-on experience.

The DPM Graphic Designer role is flexible in nature. If you are a retired graphic designer or have a consulting firm and would like to offer volunteer hours to our committee on a per project basis, we would appreciate your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collateral design: Create flyers and other collateral designs to market and advertise events that promote DPM and adhere to DPM brand guidelines.
  • Website Updates: In partnership with the Web specialist or the Museum’s contracted website development team, make updates to the WordPress website, such as editing pages, posting new content, and updating plugins.
  • Basic Maintenance: In partnership with the Web specialist or the Museum’s contracted website development team, ensure the website is up to date, troubleshoot minor issues, and keep it secure.
  • Content Refresh: Update images, links, and other content to keep the website fresh and engaging.
  • Content Creation (Optional): Write blog posts, create website copy, or develop other written content to engage visitors.
  • Page Design (Optional): Help design or refresh web pages to improve aesthetics and functionality, aligning with the Museum’s branding.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with creative software (Adobe creative suite or equivalent in necessary)
  • Skilled in print and electronic design
  • Ability to lead the team in a strategic direction for branding consistency
  • Familiar with social media platforms and lead the team
  • Familiarity with WordPress (basic knowledge is fine!).
  • Interest in learning about website maintenance, content creation, and design.
  • Creativity and a good eye for detail.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate.
