About Us:
As a volunteer-driven organization, our website is a critical tool for sharing our mission, celebrating history, and connecting with the community. The Denver Police Museum(DPM) is dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the Denver Police Department while fostering community engagement through educational programs, exhibits, and events.
Role Overview:
The WordPress Webmaster role to help maintain and enhance our website. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to preserving Denver’s rich law enforcement history while gaining hands-on experience with website management. If you’re interested in writing content or designing pages, we welcome your creativity!
Key Responsibilities:
- Website Updates: In partnership with the Museum’s contracted website development team, make updates to the WordPress website, such as editing pages, posting new content, and updating plugins.
Content Creation (Optional): Write blog posts, create website copy, or develop other written content to engage visitors.
Page Design (Optional): Help design or refresh web pages to improve aesthetics and functionality, aligning with the Museum’s branding.
SEO Assistance: Implement simple SEO optimizations like adding meta tags, updating keywords, or ensuring proper formatting.
Basic Maintenance: In partnership with the Museum’s contracted website development team, ensure the website is running smoothly, troubleshoot minor issues, and keep it secure.
Content Refresh: Update images, links, and other content to keep the website fresh and engaging. - Skills & Qualifications:
Familiarity with WordPress (basic knowledge is fine!).
Interest in learning about website maintenance, content creation, and design.
Creativity and a good eye for detail.
A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate.
