URGENT: Status of the development of a permanent location for the Denver Police Museum

Dear Denver Police Museum Supporters,

We want to bring you up to date on the status of the development of a permanent location for the Denver Police Museum. As you may be aware, the Board of Directors has been working to establish a permanent home for the Denver Police Museum at 4700 Brighton Blvd. This location is next to the National Western Center Campus North of Interstate 70.

The Board feels very strongly that we must develop a business model that does not rely on city council budget appropriations or solely on paid walk in travel in order to be financially sustainable. To achieve this goal, we are planning to use the space above the Museum to provide for other revenue sources that will benefit the Museum. These revenue sources might include an events center, condos, hotel space, office space, etc.

In order for those other revenue sources to be available to the Museum, it is critical that the development on Brighton Blvd north of Interstate 70 occurs. Currently, the existing facilities in that area are outdated and will not support the kind of economic vitality that the Museum requires.

The Ballot 2E Bond initiative to build a new 10,000 Seat Arena very close to our proposed Museum site will provide greatly needed economic opportunity in the area.

The Board wants you to be an informed voter and to be fully aware of the potential impact of the Ballot 2E Bond on the future of the Museum. We encourage you to educate yourself and Denver Voters on this important community decision and to make your voice heard on Election Day.

Ballots must be received by the Denver Elections Division by 7 p.m. on November 2, 2021 (Election Day).
