2026 National Police Week

National Police Week 2026 brought agencies and families together across the country to honor the officers and K‑9s who made the ultimate sacrifice. From the Candlelight Vigil in Washington, D.C., to local memorial services nationwide, communities gathered to remember those who served with courage and commitment. The Denver Police Museum stands with departments across the nation in honoring these heroes.

Police1’s full coverage of National Police Week 2026 can be read here.

Additionally, for National Police Week this year, the Denver Police Museum produced a special video honoring the O’Hayre family and their remarkable multi‑generational service to the City of Denver. We invite you to watch the video below and join us in celebrating their enduring legacy.

The Museum also produced a commemorative song and video honoring our 78 fallen officers. The song, 78 Boots, is performed by Kurt Legnon, an Afghanistan Army veteran. We invite you to watch the tribute below and reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
